February Date Night-Candlelit Dinner

IMG_1075

A candlelit dinner at home was scheduled for our February date night–but I didn’t feel like cooking. My plan was to take her to Eataly. I’d gone a couple weeks ago, just to check it out and it’s really cool in there.  It’s super busy with all types of Italian specialty foods and beverages. They have all things Italian from cheeses and meats to espresso and gelato. They also serve food at about four different eateries. They have a market, a wine shop and an espresso bar.

We were all set to go when I got off work and we hopped on the CTA Red Line. Our bellies were emp-ty so when we saw those exorbitant prices for the small portions she remembered the food court at the Water Tower and suggested we go there. Whew! She saved me a few bucks because to our surprise Foodlife, as their food court is called, has a $10 dinner special on Sunday-Thursday.  We each got an entree, a soup and a drink for only $10! There was also a wine special so I was really winning. We had a great time and for February the weather was great.
